Grandpa at one of the last family christmas parties before he passed away in 1970.

He was known to have had a sense of humor. During the depression he took odd-jobs to support the family. One such job was to put hot cinders on the road to get rid of the ice. This road ran next to a cemetery and there was an open grave near the road. As he heard a group of young people coming down the road he jumped into the open grave and as they passed by sprung out saying "Its the last day and I am the first one out!" They scattered! I would have loved to have been there to have seen the looks on everybodies faces!
